Educational Curriculum Design

The educational curriculum includes fundamentals of audiology and speech-language therapy, professional knowledges, and clinical practicum.

This is the overall educational curriculum design:

  • Establish the foundations of audiology and speech-language pathology in the freshman year curriculum to encompasses basic courses in science and relevant skills
  • Develop an understanding of audiology and speech-language pathology in the sophomore year to include basic educational courses plus early exposure to clinical observation
  • Emphasize professional knowledge and skills for speech language pathology in the junior year via two tracks, each with an early exposure to clinical practicum--one track focuses on professional knowledge and skills for audiology majors; the other track focuses on professional knowledge and skills for speech language pathology majors
  • Culminate student academic programs with a clinical practicum at off-campus sites in the senior year so that majors can hone their knowledge and skills in a real-world setting
